Alatana is an initiative

that reconnects Japan’s farmland and agricultural practices

through food.

 

Starting from Banshu-Kasai,

a land cultivated over long periods of time,

we have focused not only on how food is produced,

but on how agriculture can continue.

 

There are places where the strength of the land can be fully realized,

and places where farmland must be kept in motion

through the use of technology, as human hands can no

longer reach them.

 

Rather than presenting a single correct answer,

Alatana looks carefully at the different conditions of each land,

transforming everyday acts—

choosing, eating, and engaging—

into a force that allows agriculture to continue.
